Dad and Me

It doesnt seem to come easily

what kind of dad you wanted to be.

The kind that was fun, the kind that was fair.

All I wanted was for you to be there.

When you drink, then I sink,

will you ever give up?

Dont you think, dont you shrink,

of the shame that you cause?

I dont need you to be some superhero dad,

I just want to look at you without feeling sad.

Then you rage, and you age,

faster than most.

and we’re scared, then its there

that lost feeling of hope.
